The next step for an international technology company

LIMAB AB had already established a strong international position in laser-based measurement systems when the company became part of Dacke Industri in 2021. Since the acquisition, Lars Granlund, formerly CEO of LIMAB, has continued his journey within Dacke Industri and today serves as Vice President of Measurement Systems.

Securing LIMAB’s long-term future

When LIMAB’s owners began considering the company’s future, several of the shareholders were approaching retirement age and there was no natural successor.

The priority was therefore to find an owner that could provide continuity for employees, safeguard what had been built and create the right conditions for LIMAB’s continued development.

Dacke Industri stood out through its industrial focus and expertise. Just as importantly, its decentralised model meant that LIMAB could remain LIMAB.

Independence with greater support

Retaining the company’s identity, culture and entrepreneurial way of working was central to the decision.

Becoming part of Dacke Industri did not mean giving up that independence. Instead, LIMAB gained access to a broader industrial context and a more structured approach to long-term strategic development.

Stronger through shared expertise

Being part of a larger industrial group has opened new opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaboration.

LIMAB has been able to draw on expertise from other Dacke Industri companies in areas such as technology, purchasing, quality management and standards. A professional Board with experienced members has also supported the company in developing and strengthening its strategies for the future.

This reflects an important part of Dacke Industri’s ownership model: the companies remain responsible for their own businesses, while gaining access to relevant experience, networks and expertise when needed.

A new chapter for Lars

The journey has not only created new opportunities for LIMAB. It has also opened a new chapter for Lars Granlund personally.

After continuing to lead LIMAB following the acquisition, Lars eventually handed over the day-to-day responsibility for the company and moved into a broader role within Dacke Industri as Vice President of Measurement Systems.

His focus has shifted from leading one company to supporting the development of several companies, sharing his experience across the business area and contributing to M&A activities.
